I miss Palin. I do not miss McCain at all. I don't know what McCain you think ran in 2008, but he made Romney look like he gave a damn by comparison. The last time McCain resembled anyone other than a Rovian Rino was in 2000. He has been increasingy pathetic through this last decade, and was a painfully self-defeating force in the last election. You are right about Romney's weakness, and about the GOP establishment that apparently seeks to create an American version of the post-Thatcher Tories. McCain? Think Boris Johnson.
