barbarism justified

  1. I don't know if it's justified — so, ahem, "clear-cut" — or not Pepe. Both strengths and weaknesses are discussed in this NYT article. That most Western hospitals cut just after birth might be a good thing: certainly painful, but I certainly don't remember the pain.

Oh well. What's happened has happened. I suppose I should sound like one of your boogy-man neo-Cons. Here, let me give it a shot: Why do you want African men to contract more AIDS!!!

  5. Just heard about the same thing on NPR out of New York. Some dude gave the circumcision trinity: 1.) the extra skin is like an HIV sponge; 2.) impoverished countries lack the infrastructure to bring water, soap and hence, regular bathing to keep the junk clean; 3.) different and small cuts in the uncut man are more susceptible to HIV than the cut man.
