  1. He was a great boxer. The three fights with Ali were magnificent. The few times I've looked at heavyweight matches since that era [say, since 1985] it's been like having to slog through what passes for discourse on Planet Pepe after having been engaged with Plato's Republic or Aristotle's Physics.
