Dowd on a rampage
How are these ruthless, careless ghouls who murdered the economy still walking around (not to mention that sociopathic sadist Bernie Madoff?) — and not as perps? Bring on the shackles. Let the show trials begin. OK, maybe not really show trials like in 1938 (pinkos would kill for that!), but Dowd for once has a point. How come none of these charlatans and con artists is yet behind bars? Bubba is getting impatient.

Cut & run
This WSJ guy compares McCain & Obama -- and finds McCain much better. Of course. But here's a little nugget which will fly by the McCain sycophants, but not by a heard-headed Romney-Nader-L. Ron Hubbard curmudgeon:
On Oct. 14, 1993, John McCain took to the floor of the United States Senate to offer what, in light of his past history and his later positions, was an unusual amendment.
Earlier that month, 19 American soldiers had been ambushed and killed in Mogadishu, Somalia, by militiamen connected to warlord Mohamed Farah Aidid. The corpse of one U.S. serviceman had been humiliatingly dragged through the streets. The Arizona Republican wanted U.S. forces out of Somalia -- and was prepared to cut off funds for the mission if the administration refused to expedite a withdrawal. President Clinton attacked the amendment as a "headlong rush into isolationism."
Hmmm... Maybe Bubba had a semi-point, after all? So what does McCain have to say about that craven surrender to Islam Militant that he was pushing for way back when?
As for Somalia, Mr. McCain noted in one of his memoirs that "The decision to leave Aidid unpunished and to withdraw from Somalia had a disheartening effect on our military. . . . They wondered if we would ever be as committed to victory as they were in the causes we ordered them to serve. Somewhere in Sudan, Osama bin Laden observed our withdrawal from Somalia and concluded that America no longer had the stomach for war."
Precisely. And Bubba bears a huge responsibility for letting AQ rise unchecked throughout the 1990s. How about McCain? What was he doing in 1993 about that? Hmmm....

The starr chamber
This brings back memories of the late '90s -- walking around Beantown with JJ, and listening to him bitchin' about big bad Ken Starr persecuting for no reason that good ole boy Bubba. A real tear-jerker. History is a never-ending repeat. Will JJ now cry a river for The Chosen One persecuting Mrs Bubba?

A new tack
"OK, now here's the deal. If ya'll don't vote for Hillary, I ain't leavin'," the former president said as he loudly downed a pulled pork barbeque sandwich, hush puppies, slaw and a jumbo iced tea in under 45 seconds. Sounds good to me.
