Ministrying da Truth: Correcting Newspeak for the MSM Party Line
Planet Pepe Loves its Big Bro
Reporters who have covered the Obama presidency say the quote-approval process fits a pattern by this White House of finding new ways to limit its exposure in the news media.
Modern White Houses have long had “background briefings,” gatherings of top officials who speak to reporters under the condition that they are quoted anonymously.
Under President Obama, the insistence on blanket anonymity has grown to new levels.
The White House’s latest innovation is a variation of the background briefing called the “deep-background briefing,” which it holds for groups of reporters, sometimes several dozen at a time. Reporters may paraphrase what senior administration officials say, but they are forbidden to put anything in quotation marks or identify the speakers.

If Orwell had written Superbowl Commercials, he too could have thought of The Green Police
This is too rich. Nowadays the timelapse from black comic invention to dead serious Pepean social policy is but a turn of the Sun. Chicago Rulz? Ha, make room for the other big and broken lake city.

The Sweet Theological Science of Islam

First you have a Toledo field day, until the ditches run red with blood, and then you build a Mosque on the bones of the infidel.
Whichever dhimmi honchos allowed this pile of shit should be buried up to their necks in WTC toxic sludge. Then every little Hasan or Muhammad who attends the friday prayers is given a nice new razor sharp rock as an opening day gift.

Obama Clean of Slate; or Pepe does Pravda
Of course, in a fundamental sense he is correct in the concept: Obama has laid the ground for killing damage to this nation. Reagan sure couldn't meet that standard.REGURGE: For Kimball having bitter fun.

In the Days of The Three Prophets
The news these days is surreal, as if we were in some vast nightmare where the Gods had decreed we were to be made prisoner in a Dystopia--and the only question they had left unsettled was what just proportion should be as foretold in the Books of Aldous, or George, or Momo

mft collage for an eve

Just f*cking around with the camera: some Orwell, drumsticks, training hand grenades (you can tell by the blue spoon), north African brass mixing shakers, archaeology trowels, a Vladimir Lenin relic, a file (you know, for the trowels), and some fine coffee. Open to interpretation, fellahs. Fire away.

Hitchens Tells the Canadians About Free Speech (11/15/2006)
The first of four: Hitchens offers a Free Speech seminar to the Canadians, and the topics discussed are John Milton, Thomas Paine, & John Stuart Mill...
...Hitchens 2/4, where he references British Historian David Irving (who at the time of the speech was -- and maybe still is -- locked away in some Austrian prison), and Oliver Wendel Holmes questions about Free Speech...
...Hitchens 3/4, where he references Canadian Speech Restrictions and Dr. Samuel Johnson, Religious Righteous, and Orwell...
...and Hitchens Free Speech 4/4, on anti-Semitism, and treating religion with ridicule and contempt (why not, eh?).
Mongol Nazis & the Power of Paranoia
A friend of mine sent me the above article.
It smacks of 1984 and concerns the empathy that some Mongolian Hard-Right Wing Political groups are cultivating for Hitler (they pronounce it "Gitler," so far as I know the H makes a "G" sound in Cyrillic), a delusion that results from an ignorance of the past. There were a couple encounters with individual Mongolians who had an ignorant fondness for the Nationalism of Hitler.
My experience in UB was grand, the majority of Mongolians extending a kindness one commonly encounters in the Old World. But it's important to keep an eye on these individuals involved in this shit, to keep tabs on any kind of Hard -Right or -Left outfits that use violence to crush dialog and discourse.
I encourage you to read the article. Mongolians already know what an alliance with Stalin means (which, at the time, was better than an alliance with Beijing), when Uncle Joe purged the country of some 20,000-30,000 Buddhist monks. Perhaps Mongolia is in need of some Western History Professors to help bring them the truth about Nazism and Hitler, and the idiotic notion of Racism and Pure Blood.

Wanna be BIG BROTHER?
WANTED BY THE FBI
Talented Professionals to Serve the Nation

The government FBI link. Notice how the photo from their page looks so, ah, fun and stress free.
And this on the heels after watching "Burn After Reading" a couple nights ago. It's the Coen brothers latest flick, and it's worthwhile, at least worth renting. The film demonstrates how crucial analysts in the CIA/NSA/FBI are politically fucked over (either by a change in administration, or by Mormons who are in a higher managerial position), and invariably turn bonkers on society.
In another vein, it's a story about how one misinterpretation piled upon another misunderstanding piled on another misinterpretation is incapable of being unraveled due to langauge (and frontal lobe) limits of many. It also has a hilarious BIG BROTHER element in it throughout, certainly a Grand March of Human Absurdity.

Orwell on Ponzi
Here's one of the many great little excerpts from Orwell's Why I Write -- think Ponzi when reading the below, and how a petty C-Store thief would be treated in contrast to how a Maddof would be treated; or how CEOs from the Big Automotive Manufacturers are treated in contrast to how, well, we're treated:
"It is not that anyone imagines the law to be just. Everyone knows that there is one law for the rich and another for the poor. But no one accepts the implications of this, everyone takes it for grated that the law, such as it is, will be respected, and feels a sense of outrage when it is not."
Orwell, "Why I Write" (Penguin Books), p. 21.
Orwell was commenting on the English legal system, but evidence suggests that it just might go beyond the limits of Great Britain's coast.

He Knows the Way to Planet Pepe

That's why Pepe the Red is so discombobulated by the prospect there is anything to fear from Islam Militant. A 5-Year Plan, he understands. His berkeleyean wit can get around that notion. But, a 10-year Plan? Fiendishly difficult......
But, not to worry, by the time this Riddle is finally solved he will be one happy-camper Pepe the Green

A chink in the armor?

If I can say so, without JJ mounting in high dudgeon, and explaining the facts of life as to what can be said or not about Obama.

The Paine of Being Hitchens

Hitchens seems to prefer another Paine quip to the same effect—that the idea of hereditary legislators is as absurd as the idea of hereditary mathematicians—but Paine most likely didn’t coin this one himself, since Franklin used it to describe the House of Lords in his Journal of Negotiations in London, written while aboard ship to America in March 1775. On equality and the hereditary principle, Franklin, Paine, and Hitchens are three peas in a pod.

Damn. I almost picked up this Hitchens biography of Paine during a layover at San Fran international. Instead, and without regret, I purchased Tolstoy's, "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" and drank some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with a soldier just returned from serving a year in S. Korea. Nice kid. I bought him a round to celebrate the homecoming. I'll have to get Hitchens bit on Paine, though. Check out the diest polemic against Christians, Jews and Muslims in "The Age of Reason" by Paine if you haven't already.

Orwell: leave the jester out of this...

P.G. Wodehouse remarks on his German internment during WWII: ...The only concession I want from Germany is that she gives me a loaf of bread, tells the gentlemen with muskets at the main gate to look the other way, and leaves the rest to me. In return I am prepared to hand over India, an autographed set of my books, and to reveal the secret process of cooking sliced potatoes on a radiator. This offer holds good till Wednesday week.
