PJ's article is funny, and sharply written. He's also right that she's a Nazi Commie Pig [this based alone on her "for adults" books]. He's also right in those broad hints that "Tiger Mom" is so focussed on getting her children to be the Belles of the Cotillion at Versailles that she is completely lost as to what it is to live a rich and meaningful human life.....
....But then he proffers up as the alternative that tired cliche' about A,B,C students and who works for whom.....
Between Tiger Mommery and Addams Family there is that broad terrain the exploration of things, and the taking of chances, and the occasion for daydreaming and wandering, can flow together with the drive to understand, to discover, and to even locally master, this Universe and ourselves. Had he looked here he would have offered up, for example, Feynman, Edison, Linus Pauling all the way over to Eric Hoffer and Reagan. Had she looked here Chua would have found the vast majority of those who have a genuine and creative contribution to the expansion of human civilization.
...Yeah, not so sure I agree with PJ.

I can imagine Chua's opinion of Hoffer and Reagan!

As Tecs would say,"Eeeeewww! They didn't even go to Princeton!"
