His parents escaped the horrors of Castro’s Cuba and Rubio is acutely aware, as he said in his speeches, that he is just “one generation removed from a very different life.” Of course, Rot thinks Castro was never a Stalinist, just a benevolent Caudillo. “We had an incredible victory … We have won,” said Christine O’Donnell in her concession speech tonight. “The Delaware political system will never be the same. … The Republican party will never be the same. And that’s a good thing.”
O’Donnell said she had urged Coons, in her concession call, to fight against higher taxes.
“We’re not going to stop fighting, either, ‘cause there’s a lot of work to be done,” O’Donnell added. “Our elected officials will be held accountable by their constituents, like it or not.”
She ended the speech on an upbeat note: “We’ve got a lot of food, we’ve got the room all night, so God bless you. Let’s party.”
Sorry I was negative about her. Probably she deserved to win.

Buddy of mine went to vote in a swing district here. He said mostly white, middle-aged, disgruntled types. The exceptions were a group of young women, one of which was wearing a Texas A & M t-shirt.Prediction: Dem bloodbath.

—Charlie Crist, an independent beating Marco Rubio, throwing a wrench in the Tea Party and extreme right winners of the night. I think what will be more interesting than his likely win is how exactly the Republican purists and the rest of Washington will treat him. It is a lonely place for independents in Washington and groupthink rules the roost, sentiment seems to be particularly harsh against former Republicans. Just ask Jesse Ventura or Joe Lieberman.

Actually, he gets off some good lines, for example:
There are terrorists, and racists, and Stalinists, and theocrats, but those are titles that must be earned! You must have the resume! Not being able to distinguish between real racists and Tea Party-ers, or real bigots and Juan Williams or Rick Sanchez is an insult--not only to those people, but to the racists themselves, who have put in the exhausting effort it takes to hate. Just as the inability to distinguish terrorists from Muslims makes us less safe, not more.
On the whole, he says nothing though, and of course, Tecs thinks everyone with a funny hat and a beard is Stalin himself.
Even the pretense of moderation doesn't sell at MSNBC.
