BART attack

"I'm angry at both of them," he said of the robbery victim and Veliz. "They took my son away from me. He was a hard-working kid. My son is dead. I want somebody to pay for this." Like, duhhh.

Veliz, who is affiliated with a gang, was arrested at Gonzalez's home after police allegedly found him with the East Coast visitor's cell phone. He will be charged with murder in the death of his accomplice, along with a robbery count, prosecutors said.

Huh? Why don't they charge the kid with the sinking of the Titanic?

Accessory to murder -- does that apply here, Mr Pseudo-Shyster?

Pepe le Pew said...

No, it doesn't apply. Gonzalez got what he bargained for, and his accomplice should be charged with attempted armed robbery. But in the absence of a murder (this was self-defense, wasn't it?), I don't see how he could be accessory to one.
Like, duh.

For a change, you sound logical, Pepe. (Is that the mountain air?) But then, OK, why did the DA or whoever charge Veliz with murder? These guys are certified shysters, paid out of our taxes (well, California's, which is basically bankrupt, but that's another story). So what gives?

They figure the guy's a shithead so let's try to nail anything on him. Wile one can relate to the impulse, there is nonetheless a banana republic feel to it. But then, it's northern California.

Yeah, Pepe and I are right and you are wrong, Tecs. Go back to selling snake oil and gerbes.

Pepe le Pew said...

gerbils?

Where am I "wrong", Mr. Rot? Can you quote the precise point where allegedly I said something not correct?

Tecumseh said...

Pepe: you haven't replied to my post on designer gerbils (not to be confused with Mr Rot's gerbes).

dunno - i need to try them to have much to say about them. have you?
in any case, whatever makes people enjoy life is probably good.

Pepe le Pew said...

Oh, you mean a stack of groupoids which is locally non-empty and transitive ? I often wonder about those.

Mr roT said...

Tecs, you were trying to say Gonzo killed his buddy here. Makes no sense.

Pepe, if you really enjoy this stuff, you can read about "Toposes pour les vraiment nuls" here. Mr Rot will cheer you on.

Tecumseh said...

Mr Rot, I said, and I quote: "Accessory to murder -- does that apply here?" That's called a question. It's not an affirmation. Ask Pepe about the logical distinction.

hmm. when is "toposes pour les cretins baveux complets souffrant d'ADD" due ?
