Of course, in some sense these killings are misguided. To stop the Shia version of Islam Militant it would seem more apt to "degauss" the Islamic clerics whose Militancy is the root behind this evil. After all, killing Hitler, not Heisenberg, worked wonders in stopping the National Socialist Bomb.
But in an age where the Cult of Submission holds sway, and the small means and ways open to those who would not submit, I suppose there is literally a huge buck for your bang in these killings targeted at those whose work would provide very fine steel to Islam Militant.....

Of course, as Islam Militant sweeps over the West, willingly Sharia'd from Coke to Okie, the killing of a few nuclear physicists rather than the leaders of Islam who employ them, is more than misguided...it is futile.
