it doesn't matter as much when you're in a red state

Christmas over "Holiday," although both have origins in Christian holiness.

I think it matters a lot. "Holiday" has no meaning whatsoever left -- it basically means a day off. Whereas Christmas still has a specific meaning. Of course, to the PC crowd, the word is literally anathema. They've been laboring mightily over the past few decades to expunge the word (and the attendant ceremonies) from the language (and from practice). The whole thing smacks of 1984.

What about this wikipedia Xmas definition AI?

Anyhow, I could argue that Holiday has the same meaning as Christmas. You aren't going to give up on Holiday, are you? Regardless of what they think, whenever I hear the word "Holiday" I think of the Venerable Bede venerating in Northumbria. Also keep in mind: just because it means nothing to those bastards doesn't mean that the significance has to be lost on everyone. Think about how different folks get different meaning out of the same prayer too. Should all that be done away with too? Or should each word be fought for? That's my little contribution for now.
