Cheney is great. I remember him since the days he was a Congressman from Wyoming, during the Reagan years. Even then, he would stand out from the crowd. But he's getting old, alas. We need fresh blood. But the overall quality among elected officials has been dropping steadily since the high point of the early Reagan years. How to turn around the trend? Yeah, Sarah Palin -- that's the ticket, JJ.

Of course you can't compare Palin to Cheney. Maybe in 20 years she will be another Thatcher. Maybe she'll be Geraldine Ferraro and just have a better grasp of politics than even A I Rove... Who knows. What's the value of a newborn child?

Once they see Gay Paree, you can't keep them down on the farm anymore. We're stuck with this Sarah now, for a long time. Question is: when will Oprah crack, and have her on her fabled show?
