Yep, I saw that, but didn't bother to post -- I thought this guy would have crawled back under a rock after his patron and hero, Saddam, was kicked out.

The surge turned things around on another difficult front, Washington. The surge gets way too much credit for the remission in fatalities. 2 factors contribute to it much more significantly: the US paying off sunnis, and AQ massacring the population indiscriminately. Without these two elements, the surge tactics would have produced nothing.
