Battle at Kruger, South Africa...

In short, the water buffalo walk right into a lion pride ambush. The pride strikes, and begins to take down a calf. While the pride administers the suffocation choke-hold at the water's edge, a crocodile surfaces and grabs the young buffalo. A tug-of-war ensues between the arguable kings of the jungle, and croc. The pride pulls the calf from the croc, but alas, the buffalo herd by this time has regrouped to mount their counter-attack. If this wasn't enough, after the lion strangle and the croc mauling, and once the bison herd begins to chase off the pride, the calf stands up, and returns to the herd.

Fascinating...

This is very interesting...Hard to see how the calf could live long after that mauling, but here's to a herd of water buffalo not from planet pepe

I suppose all this battle missed was the air attack. At least a brace of buzzards would have completed the scene.

Gives new context to the phrase, "NEVER GIVE UP!"

I was surprised as hell to see the calf get up too. The lion pride looked a little confused when the croc came out of the water for a bite. Supremacy in the water for the croc. Supremacy on land and in the trees for the Pride. Safety in numbers for the herd. What an interesting planet we live on.

That and maybe a herd of elephants storming in to chase everything off, humans included.

Ah, yes, the Elephants. Have we ever heard of lions bringing down Elephants?

Maybe just the little elephants. But it'd have to be incredibly unique. Mom is always, and invariably, nearby.
