Hail Caesar

News of rocket or mortar attacks on the Green Zone or a spectacular truck bombing is actually evidence that the insurgents are trying to inflate perceptions of their capabilities as an antidote to the reality that their fingers are being pried from their grip on the throat of the Iraqi people. As more areas are secured, the insurgents must rely on high-profile attacks to sway public opinion, especially in the United States.

The more desperate they become, the more gruesome their attacks, even though they are increasingly despised by Iraqi locals, and the bombings might be fewer and fewer.

Saw Bush Jr., Rice and Gates and the Generals shaking hands in the Iraqi desert earlier today. My thoughts are with those many Yankee grunts who put Jeffersonian and Franklin ideals ahead of themselves. Here's to the Republic this evening, fellahs.
