As I said, with a Kerry-McCain ticket in 2004 we would have done no worse, perhaps better, and would at least have had absolute clarity as to what hand we were dealt with.
In short, Bush II, of 2001 t0 2003, was the anomaly. Bush II, before 2001 and after 2003,was Normal Bush-- a Texas facade on his Yalie papa. And Normal Bush is a dyspeptic gift that refuses to keep on giving.

It's all too late now. Now we have the detritus of the Normal Bush's Ship of Fools washing ashore, with its dessicated survivors so delusional as to think the cawing of the gathering gulls of the Left might just be a song of Love. And in the meantime, in the plains leading to the stark cliffs above that shore, the Pepean lemmings scramble en masse after their Fuhrer, hordes or Red and Green and Brown rushing to perdition.; 6/27/2008 11:35 AM
Arelcao Akleos said...: McCain is just too tired. You can see it each day. His judgement, I think his awareness of the fullness of what is going on, is not what it was 10 years ago. Chronologically, he is not too old. But he seems almost defeated at the start.
