The great question is what happens after November. The hope of the White House, which knows it is about to take a drubbing, is probably this: that the Republicans in Congress will devolve into a freak show, overplay their hand, lose their focus, be a little too colorful.

After all, this was a bitter — often personal — contest where Hayworth called McCain a liar and “shape-shifter,” and McCain dubbed the former radio talk show host “a huckster” and “a pig.”
Now, that's class. Calling JD a "retard" and a "mongoloid", too. He's doing the right thing, under the circumstances. Why bother calling McCain?
Because Hayworth ought to support him in the general.
It has been tit for tat the whole way with those two. I doubt McCain would have done anything for Hackworth in the general. Heck, look how little he did for Palin, other than have operatives badmouth her, after the general election in '08? McCain is a spiteful, lying, Versaillean wannabe. "Retard" Hackworth is fully justified in doing nothing for him, and saying nothing to him. My bet is that he won't try to undermine McCain's campaign, I bet I absolutely would not make if the result had gone the other way.
