Bill Gates

is doubtless losing lots of sleep over the possibility that he might lose such a big market.
Punning contest starter: The new Venezuelan computer will be called a FARCstation!

For shame, Hugo. Here is Microsoft, doing its progressive best to work for a Radiant Future with our enlightened friends of the CCP, and Chavez stabs them in the back? Be careful of Treading the Counterrevolutionary Path, Hugo....

I'm with Hugo on this -- even a broken clock is right twice a day. Who needs Windoze, anyhow?

Nice jacket, Tecumseh. Does it bear the Union Label?

You guys be nice to MS. Remember they pay their taxes and Linux doesn't.

what is your point jj ? no matter how poor an OS windoze is, as long as MS is paying taxes i should ditch my linux box ?

Pepe,
I didn't go that far. Just sayin that between Hugo and Gates, I'll take the ADD guy over the FARC-supporting paratrooper anytime.
You?

don't personalize this: this is not about chavez vs gates. it's about free access to quality technology vs the expensive and buggy standard. i'm with anything that offers a (viable) alternative.

This is a false dichotomy you set up, Mr. Straman! One can go with a company that does pay taxes, and also makes a good product, viz, Apple. You know that as well as I do.

Come to think of it, JJ, maybe you should explain to everyone the origin of the moniker, Mr Straman. Care to give it a shot, or is it self-explanatory?

i would expect that a die-hard conservative consistent with his ideology relish the sweet sound of the monopoly breaking apart under the forces of the almighty market.

Sounds good to me -- invisble hand, and all that jazz.
