The successful attack on Democrats that began in the 1960s with Nixon’s appeal to the “great silent majority of Americans” who abhorred anti-Vietnam agitators and glided into Bush’s vilification of egghead liberals short on Iraq testosterone, has exhausted itself.
Not a minute too soon.

Ho hum. A Vichyist, having tasted full well the fruits of debasement and appeasement, leaves his country firmly on the road to perdition--an inconvenient personal truth--and then troths his service to the same star of red and moon of green whose fires seek to spread their destruction to the New Land.
What a Fucking Surprise.
The new land already has its own texan star who's doing a great job at destroying it. Move over, bushites your time's up and you've squandered it.
??
It takes a special sort of chutzpah to equate the ordinary damage of ineptitude with the malice you would inflict on this nation. You'd better do a better job of hiding your "neoconism", pepstein, or your homies will turn on you like "Youths" on Citroens.
oh yes, I forgot. the pepe malice, the obama pogroms, the soccer players with funny names. anything else fixin' to end western civ? I'd rather worry about that than think too much about the amazing job your neocons are doing with the economy.
The economy? A socialist state is posited as the alternative to the american economy? Care to compare France's unemployment rate with that of the USA? You are here because jobs were just so plentiful under L'Etat back home?
All dirigiste and no work makes Charles Malign a dim Aristo.
what's the matter with you aa ? some french guy spoke a bit rudely to your favorite granny and you're still so sore you can't have a civil discourse ?
You lost me after Woody Allen...
Woody Allen?
This article is absolutely wonderful. Obama is loved in France (with 1/555 blacks in parliament) because he's black and lefty? Why don't they elect more then? Because it's fine for a Frenchman to have a dumbass for president over here, but not over there.
I always find some humor in the extreme idiots Europe elects. Just makes things more fun in the aper when there's a Bertinotti or Delanoe of Livingstone getting quoted often.
The only ones that would have Obama in any power in France are the thugs that go on burning sprees outside Paris. I am sure Henri-Levy would want them in charge.
He's a schmuck.
An online support committee has drawn all-star support, including the fashion designer Sonia Rykiel, the Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoë, the writer-philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy and Pierre Bergé, the partner of the late Yves Saint Laurent.
Oh, wow. Is Delanoë gonna come here and campaign for Obama? Do it, do it.
“Today, if you’re not rich or Southern or born again, the chances of your being a Republican are not great.” ... For the providential “good American” can never be as good as the Gallic and global imagination would like. The silent Americans are still there; they are not as European as the French would wish.
Right. I'm not rich, not Southern, not born again, and about as European as it gets, and still don't like pinkos, especially those loved by the Frenchies.
Mumia for President!
