Strictly speaking it wasn't the Portuguese anymore, as it flew under the Spanish flag [thanks to O Rei Sebastiao, the imbecile of Alcaz Kedir ]. Once the Castile oppressors were sent to their own private El Dorado [1642 was a very good year], the sweet music of concord reigned between Limey and Luso.

Spoken like a Spanish dog [you have to take me to a Spanish restaurant in Boston so I've a more recent basis of comparison. Madrid 1972 was pretty uninspiring grub]
