But potential troublemakers were hardly the only ones to end up in the files. In hundreds of reports stamped “N.Y.P.D. Secret,” the Intelligence Division chronicled the views and plans of people who had no apparent intention of breaking the law, the records show.
These included members of street theater companies, church groups and antiwar organizations, as well as environmentalists and people opposed to the death penalty, globalization and other government policies. Three New York City elected officials were cited in the reports.
In case the pinko-lefties made good on their allegiance to obl and planned to bomb the RNC with granola.

should have been deported all of them to giant secret camps in Alaska where they would kill caribou and search for oil...
or ,better, search caribou & kill for oil?
In the end, always the end, the D of PP seeks to know his irrational animals from the inside out
aa, if, as is generally the case, you truly have nothing to add beyond adolescent nagging, why bother?
Pepe, I've yet to hear an individual from the Left (or political Left) rationalize their support for (in Bill Clinton's days) increasing cop-power in America by 100,000, but when something like this comes along, they, the Left, cry about injustice. Could you set things straight for me?
As a Libertarian, I don't see a need for any more cops to Protect and Serve, and we have too many crooked ones already. How come Bill Clinton wanted more? And how come members within your ranks wanted more?
How come Bill Clinton wanted more? And how come members within your ranks wanted more?
not within my ranks, mft. i truly have no idea, nor recollection. As anyone who's lived long enough in New Orleans, i don't need to be convinced that more incompetent police is better.
You better contact the head of your party then, Pepe. Bill Clinton directly called for 100,000 more cops throughout his presidency — a cop on every corner! Al Gore the Science Guy studied under Bill, too. Maybe we could get a Global Scie-Warmist on every corner, too.
mft - i am unsure why you are under the notion that being critical of the present prez's foreign policy automatically turns me into a blind supporter of all things clintonian.
Just looking for some consistency, Pepe. Or, at least, your own rationale for why you think the way you think.
It's easy to call someone else a hypocrite. Don't point out my own, though!
Why bother giving until the adolescent mewlings of the D of PP a dose of its own "fire"? Justice, D of PP, goold ol' Social Justice
? not sure what hypocrisy has to do with this mft.
In other posts that I'm too lazy to link you to at this point in time, you charged FCP'ers with hypocrisy. So I point it out in your own party ideology, that your party endorses putting more cops on the street while simultaneously endorsing this supposed return to Civil Liberties. If you want the latter, how do you rationalize your former CIC's (Clinton's) stance?
Awaiting another sidestep...
my own party ? mft, i don't even vote here. i am about as close to the dems as you are of sarkozy's ump.
Sidestepping predicted, and flawlessly executed yet again by Pepe.
At least you're consistent.
