Some nineteenth-century Anglo-American treasure hunter likely swiped it. Many had an infatuation with the Ancient world, for one reason or another. Ulysses Grant took at least one trip to Egypt (maybe two).

Friggin' theives. Probably for the better, though, as the wreath would likely have been in the hands of either the Gestapo or Soviet Russia. Who knows where shit ends up after that.
