“Whatever the level of foreign troops in Iraq, things will continue to deteriorate."
Hey, this is a mathematical statement that I can understand. So let's try to deconstruct what Vile Pine is saying. Can you guys help me plot the two curves -- GI boots on the ground, vs Sunni/Shiite mayhem -- that VP has in mind? And, how does he think these curves grow or decay? Exponentially? Logistically? Linearly? Or is it too much to ask from a pseudo-Cartesian bloviator?
This headline made me wonder if the article link would finally tell of Castro's death. Or did he die already? No more mentioning Havana unless it deals with Castro, okay!?
Assuming there cannot be negative foreign troops, the domain must be for x >,= 0. If we take his "whatever" seriously, it must be that for all intervals D(x), the Deterioration function, is decreasing. More troops, things deteriorate. On the other hand the "whatever" implies that for fewer troops, things deteriorate as well. Thus D(x) is increasing. Thus, over the same interval, D(x) is both increasing and decreasing, so must be a constant function. But, by the definition of D(x), things must deteriorate and so constancy is not possible. Contradiction. Hence Vile Pain's statement is French Crape avec beurre de Scheit, the perfect meal for the "pseudo-Cartesian bloviator".
