Here's an interesting take from one Republican:

“I think he [Goodman] should run with Rudy,” said Amanda Arzberger, 28, a Republican who is a fan of both Mr. Goodman and Rudolph W. Giuliani. “I think he’d give them all a good run for their money. And he’d have plenty of money to do it.”

It doesn't sound like Mandy is aware of Giuliani's mafia-fighting past... You think that might rub Goodman (sic) the wrong way, or maybe he's too happy from the gin to even notice (keep in mind: he's lecturing about martinis at community colleges now)?

Pepe: what decent spirits did the French reap in regards to their own attempts at colonization and empire? The Brits got us some good gin. C'mon, Frenchie: give us a list.

As far as beverages are concerned, there's a helluva Vietnamese-style coffee (I'm certain French-influenced) that I've had from time to time, often made with a thick, sweetened milk/cream. I haven't a clue what the name proper is. All I know is the coffee is dripped through a little device that sits on top of the glass. I used to get 'em on ice. Man they were good. Do you have any idea what it might be (or what I'm talking about — may be a regional thing)?

i don't know this for a fact but it is probably safe to assume that all the "gris" wines of morocco & algeria (boulaouane & gueraouane) were planted by the frogs. Unless of course there is something in the Koran that stipulates that while drinking alcohol is haram, planting it is actually mysteriously halal.

Pepe, there used to be a Vietnamese family that ran their restaurant in Bismarck, but the family has since gotten out of the business.

I did a quick search, found it, and here's what it looks like, filter and recipe and all. My only variation was that after the coffee mixed with the condensed milk, I'd pour it all over a glass of ice.
