It's standard pinko doctrine: everything must be paid by the State, through taxes collected from citizens (or, more precisely, a subset consisting of roughly 50% of citizens). Once you accept this basic principle of Pepea, there is no line at which you can reasonably stop, and say, whoaa, no way Josay, we can't pay for that?

Eg, just to take another, totally random example: why not pay tuition for illegal aliens from state-collected taxes? You'd be branded as being heartless.

I want an convertible bentley and don't think it should be on the community either. But if I am born without legs and need an expensive special vehicle to move around, that is an entirely different matter. Like we aren't a community of islands that occasionally have to bump into each other.
