My Frontier Thesis said...: I had a Coanda spike while out in the field doing survey today.

We know it's silly to piss directly into the wind, but it's also crazy to piss directly with the wind. Some sort of Coanda effect takes place if the latter is performed. A small vortex forms from the wind sweeping around both sides of the body, thus creating a spattering Coanda effect. Always turn a bit to one side or the other so that the wind doesn't do that (unless you enjoy golden showers).; 3/20/2007 4:20 PM
Mr roT said...: Interesting. Being a city-boy, I don't get much opportunity to piss al fresco. I do know the words to a Jerry Jeff Walker song on-topic, though, and I have been told to go piss up a rope. Not sure why that would be so futile, but haven't tried.
Feynman once demonstrated to amazed colleagues that piss comes out under pressure and it is not a gravity-fed system by standing on his head and (presumably) pissing all over himself.
I have also heard a nice quip on topic: Anyone can piss against the wall, be a real man and shit on the ceiling.
