AQ on the prowl on eve of 9/11
The plot was believed to involve three individuals, including a U.S. citizen, who may have entered the United States. U.S. officials believed the threat was a vehicle laden with explosives. Ah, but if these guys are Binnie boys who jumped the fence in AZ, then it's OK by Mr Rot. Never, ever ask for their papers, or he'll get real mad at you.

Why would a US citizen jump fences in AZ?
Because a US citizen may have gone to the tribal lands of Pakistan to get trained into AQ shit, and then come back furtively with a bunch of acolytes to try to do his dastardly deeds. Duhh.
Of course, when you have a basically open border, this creates (on top of many other problems) a huge security risk. But the open border absolutists never want to acknowledge that issue, or try to deflect it or minimize it or whatever -- the usual.
Nah. Point is that when the pols get Bubba seething about "border security," they add on a whole munch of reasonable sounding motives to take them seriously.
National defense is not about the border with Mexico.
US citizens that get on the lists probably just take planes to the US like everyone else. It's not like the goddam child molesters in the TSA will stop them.
Idée fixe. It can be cured.
Exactly. I ain't the one seething about border security.
"Seething" about border security? It's a mendacious way to put it. A much less tendentious way to put it is "concerned". And that's because, inter alia, I live in the US, so sure I am concerned about all sorts of armed guys and mad bombers or whatnot crossing the border with near-impunity.
Easy for you to be above the fray in a Swiss chalet sipping chablis and pontificating about us Bubbas being paranoid about security.
Check the top of the blog. Seems that the arms smugglers are in the FBI and ATF and they don't much care who they arm.
