Wisconsin Northwoods Lager this Weekend

A friend of mine said he picked up a case of Leinenkugel's Northwoods seasonal lager, and there's a good chance I'll be able to pry a few from his fridge this weekend. We'll drink a few, and then the plan is to plant ourselves in the downtown Bismarck area where plenty of bars and pubs are in pedestrian winter distance. I'll try to do a full report, that is if I remember how they go down.

And I believe I'll be buying some more this weekend as well! It's not exactly a distinctive beer, just of a simple lager. But as far as simple lagers go, it's quality stuff; crisp and clean with real flavor. Did that sound pompous? At any rate, I'm a big fan.

It's cheaper to eat out, they say.

But no ads for Guinness allowed in Canuck bars.

In the meantime, Russian chaperones try something stronger than hops. Maybe single malt? Or vodka?

I can't even begin to start logging all of my disagreements with that "cheaper to eat out" article.

The reason it remains more expensive to dine at home is because us Yankees tend to shop for what we want rather than what's seasonal/on sale. At least that's a theory. DLB, I'll be over drinking your LNWL all weekend, so you might want to consider a third or fourth case.

Lagers ain't big around these here Blue Stocking parts...but I sure could use a couple right now. DLB, could you make sure MFT is kept at bay long enough to give you a chance to wing the brews eastward?

AA, there are none left. I drank the last one. Quit trying to moderate my booze intake.
