That used to be a very seedy neighborhood -- don't know if it got yuppified in the meantime. The main reason to go there was that they were selling really cheap clothing on Delancey, out of stalls strewn in the street. Could buy a T-shirt for $2 or so...
now you can get tattooed there instead, but it costs more and you get AIDS
