JJ, I've been looking for a good map on the contemporary religious and ethnic demographics of the Middle East. I'll try to do a bit more searching after work, but if you know of anything, let me know, or provide the link if you could.
I'm a bit skeptical about this massive three mile long wall that they are going to build through Baghdad. Historically, walls have never worked -- from the Great Wall to the Berlin Wall to Hitler's Atlantic Wall, etc.

...and by the way: good Hitchens article.
The Berlin Wall worked swimmingly! If it hadn't been there, there would be only a couple freezing crickets in Lenin's Workers' Paradise.
Patton noted that fortified or geological structures provided man with an excuse to figure out how to get around them.
