LBJ Centennial

Joe Biden is no LBJ. Heck, he's not even Lloyd Bentsen. I am not referring to the scandals that were dug up by the campaign staff of Michael Dukakis in 1987, though for a politician to be defeated by the Dukakis machine must have been quite a humiliation. Powww!!

Beaten by a sissy massachusetts gov! NYAH NYAH NYAH! You think Romney will beat him again, AI?

Another take: Johnson delivered Texas for JFK. You think Romney can deliver any state for Mac that he wouldn't win anyway?
Utah will not vote Democrat in our lifetimes. Michigan seems to be tottering rightward. Massachusetts is languishing in Kennedy-Brezhnevian leftswamp.

Hugh Hewitt has the answer for you, JJ. Where's my 6-pack of Harpoon?

Biden couldn't win a debate against a jockstrap. Besides, no one votes for a ticket based on a vp debate. Hewitt's slipping.

Romney might still be the right choice, but not for that reason.

I like the list of states Hewitt gives, though. Have to think on that.

Lloyd Bentsen cleaned the clock of Dan "Potatoe" Quayle, but Papa Bush still won against the Duke. So yes, it's possible to make a terrible vp choice, and still win. But consider: Bush Pere was running after 8 years of Reagan, which is not the same as 8 years of Bush Fils. And Obama has a better organization than Dukakis (no tank rides, that's for sure), while McCain doesn't have Roger Ailes and Lee Atwater to run a real tough campaign. So, bottom line is, McCain desperately needs a good VP choice -- he screws this up, and he's done.

We have had the tank ride, AI. Obama on the bike was ridiculous.
