When The Grey Wolf Made His Great Escape..

.....to Peron, Hero of Planet Pepe, he did go.

Ha, Take That, you stinking little Boys from Brazil. Muy macho gauchos got your Papa, and you just got Herr Doktor Mengele.

Neatly coinciding with a Hollywood flick, and just in time to declare it all Bush's Fault.

The Hidden Hand Hides No More

This Republic is dying, and the Czars of Planet Pepe are on the hunt for Demosthenes.

Chicago, of course, long ago thought of this.

Another Step to Absolute Power

So now, if this stands, any economic activity whatsoever is under the control of the government--if it but so wills it. And it will.
It is time for the Furies, and to hell with the Milquetoasts who wish but for Le Roi to grant them a corner to sup on their canapes while the peasants burn.

Don't cry for us, Argentina

In 1914, it was one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and its living standard exceeded that of Western Europe until the late 1950s. Then President Juan Peron squandered his nation's prosperity by introducing a host of redistributionist economic and regulatory policies, nationalizing utilities and foreign investments, and pumping up the national debt. What followed was three decades of political instability, growing dependency, and economic stagnation.

Day Cards Monte

"Contrary to the belief of mainstream economists, economics is not a giant confidence game in which the government can fool enough people into feeling sufficient consumer confidence to generate a self-fulfilling prophecy of economic growth.......

The map is not the land. The statistics are not the economy. This is not a recovery; this is the false dawn that precedes the darkness."

Yankee Peronism

Says Kraut: The notion of presidential car warranties strikes me as simply too bizarre, too comical, to mark the beginning of Yankee Peronism. Why not?

Obama has far different ambitions. His goal is to rewrite the American social compact, to recast the relationship between government and citizen. He wants government to narrow the nation’s income and anxiety gaps. Soak the rich for reasons of revenue and justice. Nationalize health care and federalize education to grant all citizens of all classes the freedom from anxiety about health care and college that the rich enjoy. And fund this vast new social safety net through the cash cow of a disguised carbon tax. Obama is a leveler. He has come to narrow the divide between rich and poor. For him the ultimate social value is fairness. Imposing it upon the American social order is his mission. Fairness through leveling is the essence of Obamaism. Sound like warmed-up Perónism to me. As refried at Harvard, and served up in Chicago.
