The Bush keeps on Burning

The House that Reagan Did Not Build This quote of Gorbachev's is completely consistent with the remarks I've personally heard from the two members of the House of Bush I've known. They respected Reagan, and those who were in accord with him, about as much as Romney & Rove respect the Tea Party. In the aftermath of the triumph of Obama, the RINO's are in full press mode to make their little club free of any vestiges of Reagan or Tea Party. Just as the Tories went full blast to eradicate the followers of Thatcher after her political demise. England is now a proudly sclerotic, decadent, thuggish Tryanny a'growin', with a Tory prime minister who is indistinguishable from his Labor brethren. So goes the Future, as dreamt by the Frumious Rinosnatch.

A GOP Divided Cannot Stand

Erick RedNeck .................................................................. Between the Tea Party and the M's and B's is an abyss that can no longer be spanned. For a quarter century the leadership of the GOP has consistently let languish, worse, downright betrayed, the principles and concerns which guide and motivate its body. Versailles has enjoyed its long sucker punching of the American right. But there is no more time for this shit. The GOP regains its lost integrity, or it dies. That simple, and that immediate. "Put bluntly, Republicans voted to do exactly what they they accuse the Democrats of doing — shut down businesses by driving up regulatory burdens in an effort to increase taxes...............Republican leaders in Washington ..... have become less and less like the Party of Reagan and more and more like the Party of John Anderson. "

Sacre Bleu, Hoya!

He dare try to Exorcize da Pepe? Unfortunately, Mr. Blatty, the odds of Georgetown being restored to its Catholic roots are about the same as the University of Chicago being restored its high days of "The Life of the Mind".... or of this land overthrowing the visehold AmeriSoc has over this dying, once free, Republic.

I was Laughing at this a Day ago

...but the reality is that there is a fair probability of Romney putting his stamp, and his "Vision", and the Chicago Way Lite the Rovians have been conjuring up, on the GOP. Which means that the Establishment will beat up on the Tea Party, and the Right in general, and will send out the Milquetoast Express against Obamakles. They're willing to screw Allen West to make the GOP "safe" from stinking peasants? Then they're gonna face The Chicago Way Which Ain't Got Nothing Lite About It, and will do so without the saving grace of the Tea Party.
They have, to put it very very politely, their priorities all fucked up.

Riehlist Vs. The Romnerovians

"Conservatives now have but one horse to ride; otherwise, you may as well saddle up with Mitt and head off into the sunset with whatever you think is a genuine form of conservatism. Romney is not going to expend one iota of political capital selling it, or fighting for it, because he doesn't believe in it. He is as elitist and out of touch with the working class that empowers Reagan conservatism as is Obama. And he's damn near as progressive in terms of government being the answer to everything, as long as he's the one who gets to make the decisions. That's not conservativism. It's bullshit."

Another Reminder of the Problem With Romney

He is very much establishment oldguard, utterly comfortable with that nexus of Versailles and its Corporatist branch. With consistently no evidence whatsoever of getting what the Stinking Peasants are about, or of having the wit to imagine it with some accuracy [unlike, say, Gingrich, who is inconsistent but gets it right far more often]. So he is beloved by the Establishment. Whattasurprise.
But if he is nominated, then he will be as effective a campaigner as Bush Sr. or Dole, and should he eke a win he will have no more will to undo Obamacare [very much the spawn of his "vision"] than the House of Bush had to reevaluate our indebtedness to Ever Our Friends and Allies the Saudis. And Obamacare is the keystone to AmeriSoc's ambition to "fundamentally transform" this nation.

Now how, as very much a peasant stuck in steerage, do I get off this Titanic alive?
