The Yalta betrayal

The chapter titles of this book tell the abysmal story: Aiming to Please the Kremlin Man, Professionals Front for the Soviet Union, Credulity Triumphs Over Warnings, The Balkans for the Reds, New York's Pinks Oblige the Kremlin, Yalta Apologias Don't Stand Up. Well, 67 years later, Yalta still has its apologists.

George S. Patton, the anti-Rotter

The newly unearthed diaries of a colourful assassin for the wartime Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the CIA, reveal that American spy chiefs wanted Patton dead because he was threatening to expose allied collusion with the Russians that cost American lives. An Enemy of the People, says Mr Rot. Off with his head.

Covering up for Uncle Joe

The U.S. cover-up delayed a full understanding in the United States of the true nature of Stalinism — an understanding that came only later, after the Soviets exploded an atomic bomb in 1949 and after Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe were already behind the Iron Curtain. "The Poles had known long before the war ended what Stalin's true intentions were. The West's refusal to hear them out on the Katyn issue was a crushing blow that made their fate worse."

Mais non, mais non--says Rot--they were not Stalinist. Just progressives. Like Castro.

Tecs and AA find a new reason to pull for the Dums

Even the NYT can explain to poor Joan what the problem is: The mix of power and the temptations of corruption can be a compelling political narrative at any time. But with voters appearing to be in an angry mood and many already inclined to view all things Washington with mistrust, the risks for Democrats could be that much greater this year.
When a guy named John Boner looks on the up-and-up in comparison, what's a Hairy Reed to do?

Your quintessential pinko fellow-travelers

Myers apparently sympathized with the Cuban ideology and revolution that put Castro into power. Court documents say he wrote in a personal journal in 1978: "I can see nothing of value that has been lost by the revolution. ... The revolution has released enormous potential and liberated the Cuban spirit." He praised Castro as a "brilliant and charismatic leader" who is "one of the great political leaders of our time." And he called the United States "exploiters" who regularly murdered Cuban revolutionary leaders.

Duhhh. That's dime a dozen thinking on Planet Pepe. It's the cloaca in which these people swim, at ease.

Obamakles Imperator Digs How the Pepes Bray

PP Hopes, and the World Changes, fo sho:
Mr. Goldberg, he says it, man:"The truth is that the Cold War’s most dangerous legacy remains the bundle of radioactive lies that poisoned so many lands and deformed so many minds. The Soviets fueled national-socialist movements around the globe, telling the poor that if they embraced violent revolution and systematically purged capitalism, tradition, and religion from their societies, they would hasten their ascent to the sunny uplands of history. The reverse was true: Whole generations were either slaughtered, left to live as dehumanized industrial cogs, or forced to labor as serfs tending crops amidst the bleached bones of their fellow countrymen.

The Soviets spread lies about the nature of democracy and destroyed indigenous democratic movements, lest they leech off the revolutionary fervor of groups both more murderous and more loyal to the Kremlin. In the West, they employed useful idiots in academia and the press to foment self-hatred and eat away at civilizational self-confidence with cancerously idiotic arguments about the “moral equivalence” between West and East."

But, hey, in Pepe's New World Order those lies ain't radioactive, komrads, they be downright Radiant.
