The Late Afternoon
"Home is where one starts from. As we grow olderthe world becomes stranger, the pattern more complicated
Of dead and living. Not the intense moment
Isolated, with no before and after,
But a lifetime burning in every moment "
from Four Quartets, T.S.Eliot

Pepe Freelances For the Makkah
Now that is one "argument" only a Le Pew could think sweet. Well, Le Pew and his Berkeley fellow travelers.

An Example of How to Guillotine an Academic, Courtesy of Steyn
With a post-script like "PS I see you bill yourself as "The Journalism Doctor". One hesitates to say "Journalism physician, heal thyself", but that strange leaking coming from your ass is your credibility." , it is a shame we could not have gotten Steyn to be one of us on FCP. A natural.

Pitcairn, FCPs St. Helena, Awaits

Not so bad, guys. Look, it has [1] Commanding heights [2] Great sea views [3] The famous one roomed Pitcairn University, where AI could teach math, JJ could teach physics and chemistry, MFT could teach history, I could do the Portuguese thing and be the gardener [4] Whacky Nawlin's Babe moments [This just for Le Pew, when he visits] [5] Gorgeous triumphalist architecture. [6] A history of unabashed anti-authoritarianism.....

Dark Matters Are Matters Dark

Astrophysics is fascinating, as science and as a field for intellectual battle. The ideas are rich and many, the observational evidence is thorny to make reliable and --comically --often falls in a twilight zone where little can be decided from it. As for experimentation, it is not clear that even the Gods can do so. Yet here we are, flies trapped in amber, carried along by this Whole Shebang.
