Socialism is all about making sure the Peasants eat nothing but Shit Tacos
Versailles Alone should Sup on Tasty Fare
If the aim was "let all have of good food" then the solution to this "unfairness" would be obvious. Have school districts send someone to Annika's kitchen and see how she makes the tasty fare and how she keeps it all in budget. Then, presto, return to their districts with this info and spread the cheer. But InterSoc ain't about improving quality, nor about fairness, it's about hammering down all those nails that are not already pinned down to the Party Line.
The travel down the River Charly has an utterly predictable, utterly mechanical, end; into the cesspool.

Charly's soul food
Menu included goat cheese crostini with a small piece of rat meat and a shot glass of gazpacho, two circles of rat and pork terrine over a deconstructed salad. Also featured was "Rat Two Ways"--braised rat and a roasted half rat over a sweet corn salad -- a rat-free lemon sorbet garnished with an edible flower, and finally, French toast topped with a slice of crispy rat jerky (head, claws, and all).

Rot in pinko Versailles
His longest-serving man in the kitchen, Feliberto Estevez, picks up $97,000. His pastry chef Jerry Montanez who was hired in 2007 is paid $68,000 while Jose Velazquez is on $80,000 after getting a $10,000 pay rise last July.

Pepe comes out swinging against pork and wine
He'd rather have gently boiled cicada larvae on a bed of rice.
Eat, Rot, eat!
Among his personal favourites are spiders that have been gently boiled and served on a bed of rice or late spring cicada larvae.
Goes well with a Nobile de Montepulciano.
