To pick a left-over running mate from AlGore would be a sign of desperation for McCain. Why not try and pick a Republican who could succeed him in a second term, instead? Sort of like Reagan did in 1980, when turned to the guy he had defeated in the primaries -- Papa Bush.

Hey, Pepe, you're off your meds again. Lieberman (AlGore's running mate in 2000, you'd recall) is a "right-wing nut"? Wowsers! I mean, if this guy is not smack dab in the center of the political spectrum -- just a bit to the left of McCain -- then who is? If your perspective keeps moving further to the left (as evidenced by your musings), you'll soon fall over the Green Monster.
