McCain, JJ, it was Kerry-MCCAIN that would have seen me pulling the lever against Bush. You know, that McCain who would have been in charge of our conduct of the WOT? As for Bush, he oversaw the administration for two totally wasted years before he found the guts to act on the surge. Let's just say that wasn't very Lincolnesque.
From the State Department, Condoleezza Rice opposed the surge, arguing, according to Mr. Woodward, that "the U.S. should minimize its role in punishing sectarian violence." [..] The President also pressed the fundamental question of how the war could actually be won, a consideration that seemed to elude most senior members of his government. "God, what is he talking about?" Mr. Woodward quotes a (typically anonymous) senior aide to Ms. Rice as wondering when Mr. Bush raised the question at one meeting of foreign service officers. "Was the President out of touch?"
Who wanted Condi to be chosen as Mac's VP running mate? Was it JJ?
AA: Your boy Kerry would have gotten the same wall against him as Bush did, only more distrustful. McCain might not have been so willing to fire everyone that came between him and what turned out to be the sane policy. Remember, McCain is a uniter, not a divider, and he's also more of a poll-watcher than Bush (i.e. has looked at one, probably).
No. Bush was the only one that would have tole the whole world to fuck off because SBJ told him to double down.
