if I had my choice, I'd rather be on the helicopter with the heavy artillery than on the ground but you are the military dude and if you prefer the other spot, be my guest: you know best.
Actually, Pepe, I'd much rather be on the ground with a missile to shoot down a helicopter than to be on a helicopter chock full o missiles aiming down at people with missiles. Helicopters are fucking death traps in those situations. What's interesting in Iraq is how poorly this basic fact was understood by the IM idjits. Running around like that is the worst thing you could do, the motion just lights you up on the sensors, and one of your team has to carry a light variant of the tow, or at least a heavy machine gun, for use against low flying helicopters. We have lost surprisingly few helicopters in combat. It's nice, but it points to there being many many amateurs in the opposition. Guess the Madrassahs are not up to snuff with modern snuff.
Good point, AA. It surprises me a bit, though. I remember from the war in Afghanistan, back in the early 1980s, the big thing for those guys fighting the Soviets was to try and shoot down the Hind helicopters. We gave them Stinger missiles to do that, though. Mercifully, Binnie & his boys have not got their paws on more Stingers (or whatever is the equivalent nowadays) since then...

Dares ? how "daring" is it to shoot from a helicopter ? Necessary maybe but daring, certainly not.
Go in a helicopter with people aiming for it and you tell how much daring it took.

Incidentally, don't you find the parallel with the eagle too corny for words ?
Where is the "Seethe, Pepe, seethe" label?
Damn! Those Brit Army nurses run pretty fast. I guess you have to lead them a bit.

The American Eagle too corny for words? My, my, you would prefer The Anti-American Eagle?
Lighten up, Francis.
