I heard of this guy -- he was good. But, at some point, one should stop chasing them mountain goats, and settle down in the valley...

Hiking is great -- I love it -- but one should try easier hikes after a while. Just use your hands and feet, forget about ropes and stuff.

The climbs in the mountains east of Seattle, such as Rainier to the Snoqualmie Pass, are brutal. Even in summer there are very deep snows, masking crevasses and ridge ends. By this time, the shit is piling high, and rescue is very very difficult.
He chose to be in a process with high negative drift, poor guy.....
