The United States Government, so far as I've been told, is by the people, for the people. I can't see how standing back and letting the "natural forces of the economy balance themselves out" like a Hoover would help the American and global economy. The American government does A LOT to protect private and big business. We may be the strangest country the world has ever seen, too. Sometimes the government needs to nudge business, and sometimes business needs to nudge the government. CNBC is full of hysterical "business analysts" who market their own variety of sensationalism to manipulate the markets anyhow. With that said, when I drive through the American suburbs and see row after row of look-alike houses, I think to myself, "This is how Stalin really wanted it to work..."

It's all very complicated. If only more people would just listen to me ;-)
