To think that, had louisiana stayed french, the tarot readers on Jackson Square may today all be out of a job. The horror, the horror.

Well, the French sold Louisiana to the stooopid Ricains for a pittance. That must rank as one of the worst (or best, depends on how you look at it) real-estate deals in history, up there with the Alaska purchase.

Seethe, Pepe, seethe!

non-sequitur city.

Tecumseh said...

Non-sequitur? That, coming from the all-time champion of non-sequiturs? C'mon, get real, Pepe. And besides, you were the one who brought up the Louisiana Purchase, didn't you?

At any rate, just to make sure you understand what the original topic of my post was about (a big if, I evidently cannot count of you to comprehend such things): it had to do with the Reign of Terror, and how the Frenchie proto-pinkos set out to destroy Christianity in their midst by randomly massacring priests and nuns, desecrating churches, tearing down monuments -- the works. It's a long-time obsession with the Left, need a shrink to explain it, perhaps.

yes i read the wiki piece, am familiar with the history and it all sounds good to me. Save of course for the fact that i'd rather desecrate a nun than massacre her, but I'm a barbarian that way.

Here is a list of some of those nuns so gleefully murdered by the proto-commies you so admire. Great moments in pinko history.

collateral damage.

Tecumseh said...

No. The raison d'être of the Left. Besides, just read again the wiki article, perhaps you'll be able to figure out the meaning of words. (Pinko education makes it hard, but one can try.)

Victims of the Reign of Terror totaled somewhere between 20,000 and 40,000. According to one estimate, among those condemned by the revolutionary tribunals, about 8 percent were aristocrats, 6 percent clergy, 14 percent middle class, and 70 percent were workers or peasants accused of hoarding, evading the draft, desertion, rebellion, and other purported crimes. Of these social groupings, the clergy of the Roman Catholic church suffered proportionately the greatest loss.

What part of this paragraph is not clear to you, Pepe?

tecs
these people's agony was much preferable than listening to your nonsensical interpretations of history in self-righteous rant mode with limbaughesque anti-pinko glasses welded to the face.
I think you need a doctor.
now were any of the nuns good looking ?

As always, rationalizing massacres in the name of Leftist ideology. The rest is a smokescreen. Deep down, every tinpot tyrant from Robespierre through Stalin and Pol Pot and on to the present who kills in cold blood the Enemies of the People is a Hero of Planet Pepe.

Watch your language, buster ! It's Lord Stalin to you.
