Better than Siberia!

Sedition was patriotic! I thought this guy's brother Raúl had taken over.

Rot, this is a parody? Seriously, the whole apology sounds so....er...soviet.
I'm kinda thinking it's a parody?

Oh, by the way, sorry about earlier today. Came home exhausted after this morning's errands and couldn't stay awake.

[This last is not a parody]

I was about to apologize for the same absence. I slept all day. Goddam math is going nowhere and these guys think I am smart still.

Shit.

The left stays angry even when in control of the whole government.

Of course they seem to view the press as an arm of the government, as in more enlightened countries than our trucknutopia, but well, they've got the universities too...

Must they have everything?

[Deviating from the Party line] was foolish, facile, ridiculous and, ultimately, embarrassing to me. I should have known better and, in fact, I do know better.

This is indeed embarrassing. And, though it does echo those Soviet groveling apologies, the comparison is not fair (to the Russkies): those poor souls were facing the dungeons of the Lubyanka. This pathetic creature is only facing some angry emails from Pepe & co for attempted lèse majesté.

You're right. Getting a job at McDonald's is a lot better than the bullet in the basement.

This fuck is very very pitiful.

The thing is, he's probably "braver" than most at NPR. Betcha there are some who thought as he originally did but were already so servile to the Party Line that it would not have occurred to them to speak out honestly.
Or maybe they're just "smarter" lickspittles than he.
