Yeah, sure -- one of the many little rivers feeding into the mighty Amazon springs from the Peruvian Andes. But, when talking about the Amazon (river, rain forest, basin, etc), I'm superficial enough to think of the vast plains of (northern) Brazil, not the high peaks of the Andes.
