Castle Doctrine?

In the Dakotas, this bill is unnecessary. If someone breaks into your home, and you happen to be within reach of a firearm, you shoot the bastard regardless of what type of legislation is rambling through your mind. Sure, you'll have to defend your actions before a court. The law as it was before already allowed an individual to do that. This seems to almost provoke any one into firing off their back porch at what ever they might hear at what ever hour of the night. Any one else care to opine? Seems that paranoia is driving this needless legislation.
