John Howard's a Good Guy

Obama did have a minor point: why don't the Aussies bring a little more soldering thunder to the war on Islam Militant?

It would be interesting, in light of this Obama response, to ask the All-Ears candidate if he thinks there's a need to check Jihadists with military force throughout the world. One might imply that from the suggestive comments in his most recent retort to the Australian P.M.

I think it's not such a good point. Australia is a democracy full of lefty pinko shitbags a few percent off of knocking the Right out of power. Howard has his opinion and it's intended for those deadbeats at home as well as those here emulating Lincoln (who WAS willing to fight a war over a moral issue).

Just so I understand you, JJ, who at home here is emulating Lincoln? (my guess is you were referring to us Hawks on Jihadists?)

Also, what do you think of my original second point. Some reporter could say that Obama is in fact for this war against Islam Militant, especially if he's encouraging the Australian P.M. to deploy 20,000 Aussie soldiers (regardless of political allegience, that would be a bit of help, mind you).

I'll be waiting for an intelligent reporter to ask Obama this, although I won't be holding my breath.

Obama poised to announce at Old State Capitol in Springfield.

Hat tip to Bernard Schoenburg of the Springfield Journal Register who reported today that Barack Obama will make his 2008 presidential bid "official" at the Old State Capitol on the morning of Feb. 10 with the Prairie Capital Convention Center backup in case of bad weather. My Sun-Times colleague Scott Fornek earlier wrote a story suggesting the Old State Capitol would be a logical place for the launch.

That will unleash the Barack Obama as Abe Lincoln narrative. Lincoln delivered his "House divided" speech at that historic spot and the announcement is on Lincoln's birthday weekend. Obama is expected to vault over to Iowa, home to the first-in-the-nation 2008 caucus, after the announcement.

You ask for another 20k troops without accusing the Aussie PM of 'empty rhetoric".

Ah, yes, Obamaham Lincoln. So is Barrack ready to commit 250,000 troops to emancipating those under the system of Sultan Oil Plantations?

Heh. I don't trust that guy at all. Notice that stupid article I sent you by Laurence Tribe was researched by Obama, btw.

I don't begin to know what Obama is about, and until I have a better sense of that will not put more than a farthing of trust in his hand

A farthing? Do olives make you gaseous like Mary Baker Eddy? (Turbulent and hot like gas that name)

Thanks for explaining the punch-below-the-line JJ, now back to the Eddy saga
