Canterbury tales: Sharia, here I come

More: An approach to law which simply said - there's one law for everybody - I think that's a bit of a danger.

When you thought it could get no worse, the head of the religion himself turns and converts.

What an utter moral vacuity this idiot holds and represents.

Thank God the Queen is the chief of the Anglican church. She has more balls than this sod.

Isn't this schmuck that was talking about USA the Great Satan just the other day?

Yup....
On the other hand, if the queen pops off Chuckie becomes King [at least for now], and Chuckie is even a more brain dead moral zombie than that pathetic V. of C.

I guess the density of Limeys in Yankland is only gonna go up.

I like them just fine as long as they're leaving out of distaste for this abdicating zero. If, on the other hand, they're here to show us the true path as taught by the Right Reverend Dr Rowan Atkinson, Archbishop of Canterbury, then they can stay where they are and put a minaret on top of St Paul's.

In other news Wiki is starting to have Sharia law breathing on its neck.

Saw that. I'm with the muslims...

A random comment from the petition: The act of displaying images of our Prophet(PBUH)is the greatest lie the history has witnessed. As such there are no images or idols or photos of our Prophet(PBUH)it is strictly prohibited in Islam. So stop this nonsense act and stop fooling around with people and hurting religious sentiments of billions of muslims throughout this universe. I hope this petition doesn't fall on dumb people.

BTW, all the pics they complain about were painted by medieval Muslims. The one they hate the most is this one. Go figure.

By the way, the "offending" pic is from a manuscript of al Biruni, apparently a famous Persian polymath from around the year 1000. Among other things, he did the following:

In the dynamics and kinematics fields of mechanics, Biruni was the first to realize that acceleration is connected with non-uniform motion, which is part of Newton's second law of motion.

In optics, Biruni was one of the first, along with Ibn al-Haytham, to discover that the speed of light is finite. Biruni was also the first to discover that the speed of light is much faster than the speed of sound.

Powww!! Take that, Isaac. al Biruni also asked:

"if things expand upon heating and contract upon cooling, why does a flask filled with water break when water freezes in it?"

You think Al Gore knows the answer?

Some comments for the Right Archbishop of Canterbury, Doctor Rowan Williams, from my Ayaan Hirsi Ali files. To quote the brilliant and bold Ayaan from her book, Infidel (must read, fellahs):

Under Islamic Law in Holland, battered women "were convinced that by accepting systematic, really merciless abuse, they were serving Allah and earning a place in Heaven. They always went back to their husband." (p. 244)

Under Islamic Law in Holland, "Little children were excised on kitchen tables [cutting off the girls clitoris at about 5-8 years of age]... Girls who chose their own boyfriends and lovers were beaten half to death, or even killed; many more were regularly slapped around." (p. 246)

When two different legal codes were used in one country, "immigrants lived apart, studied apart, socialized apart. They went to separate schools -- special Muslim schools or ordinary schools in the inner city, which other families fled." I like to call this a neat little variation on Jim Crow Law. (p. 246)

"If you believe that Allah predestines all, and life on earth is simply a waiting room for the Hereafter, does that belief have no link to the fatalism that so often reinforces poverty?" (p. 279)

Might as well do it on the cathedral in the Twin Cities. A friend living there says he's getting sick and tired of walking into a Somali-owned shop, getting something to go, and having the entire place angrily stare him down from the time he enters the door to the time he leaves.

AI said: I'll take an old Trotskyite, whisky-swilling bastard like Hitchens any day of the week over that insufferable old fart from Canterbury.

Props to that, AI. Props to that.
