McCain=Churchill?

Hmmm... Not even JJ would claim that, would he? Depends on which Churchill we're talking about.

Do I have to? The first sentence tells the reader what kind of a writer he's dealing with. Isn't this the Weekly Standard or some Reagan-hagiographic sheet?

Hah! You keep diggin', aren't you? Here's the blurb on the guy: Michael Makovsky, foreign policy director of the Bipartisan Policy Center, is a former special assistant in the Office of Secretary of Defense, 2002-2006, and is author of the new book Churchill's Promised Land (Yale University Press). Clearly, not a Reagan groupie, but rather, a Churchillian worshiper. Pow! Where's my bottle of Port?
