Playing the age card

So how will McCain respond when Obama damns him with faint praise? Is he gonna hit the pinata, or just fold?

If it's Obama vs MacCain, we're gonna hear that JFK line about 'born in this century'...?

If it's Obama vs Huckabee your going to hear the sound of 1/5 of FCP retching

make that at least 2/5 if you haven't counted me

Huckobama? Both hucksters and snake-oil salesmen, if you ask me.

Reagan countered a similar comment by saying that he's not going to attack his opponent on the grounds of insufficient experience (or something like that).

Reagan was 3 years younger than McCain when running first time for President (69 vs 72), and had a full head of black hair (perhaps with some help from Grecian formula?). Also, I think he was in better health (McCain has had cancer). So don't discount the possibility that this will be an attack angle in the Fall. It was not in the primaries (however hard the others fought, it's still a civilized battle). But in the general election, all bets are off.

Like many things, we'll just have to wait and see.

(Note: Beyond the age thing, I wasn't trying to compare McCain to Reagan, or Reagan to McCain, or McCain to McCain, or Reagan to Reagan, ad infinitum, with that political historical analogy.)

Frankly, the micro analysis of politics are so hammered into the ground these days that they tend towards the tedious (aka, a bore).

"MicroAnalysis is Boredom"

When one day we gather the Collected Works of MFT, let they open with this.

Okay, lets continue running hypotheticals about whether Romney eats cheerios in the morning, and how that bears on his political campaign; and whether McCain's quivering lip means that Huckabee will or will not win Oregon.

I guess tedious turns into the absurd, and the absurd can always provide us with humor.

Put that in the Annales, too.

...and a common and justified quip towards academics is that they tend to lose sight of the macro while writing an 8,000-page dissertation on Romney's cheerios.

Arelcao Akleos said...

Which goes to explain why so many academics are Boring

So it is written, so it shall be done!

Entry Deux, in "The Collected Works of MFT"

"Tedious turns into the Absurd, and the Absurd into Laughter"

Could you please record a middle finger for entry #3?

Mais Oui:
