Choc culturel

French TV reporters have been at a loss to explain hockey moms and the excitement over a woman whose pitch is patriotism, religion and family values. Sighhh... This must be very strange, indeed, for a true Versaillist.

"It is absolutely sure and certain now that the two planes that crashed on the (Pennsylvania) forest and the Pentagon never existed. There was never a plane... It is a vast lie", said Jean-Marie Bigard, a popular comic and actor (President Sarkozy is a friend and even invited him along on a recent trip to the Vatican and presented him to Pope Benedict XVI). Aahhh, the French. Always le mot juste.

Carla Bruni said that Sarko did not listen much to "Anglo-Saxon" music. He prefers French pop and rock artists because he understands the words. One of his favourites is Johnny Hallyday, the evergreen rock idol. Aahhh, the French. Always the perfect taste.

Yup - doesn't get more boring than that.

I agree with you on Sarko's musical tastes though. With the exception of Gainsbourg, French people shouldn't be let close to musical instruments.

If they just stick to singing, Frenchies can be quite good. But yes, stay away from electric guitars and the like.

AI, is a big fan of Mireille Mathieu, Pepe. Leave him alone while he wipes his tears away. He's very sensitive when it's not about pinkos or birkenstocks.
