KIM JONG II - OF FAILED DREAMS, HOPES, IDEALISM, STUBBORNESS AND SELF RELIANCE.
I read a lot about Fidel Castro, Kim Jong, Manuel Zelaya, Hugo Chavez, even Che Guevara - the latter is one of my favorite. What is it about these men that make them stand against all odds - it's refusal to bow down to Imperialistic Nations ?
Curiosity is my middle name.
There is something common about this men - early in their lives they were truly idealistic, dreamers, stubborn and, surprisingly, champion of the poor - yes, even Castro and Jong, very educated, and Leftist-Marxist Political Orientation shaped their idealism and dream.
During reciprocity week, while Jr in College, I read for the first time Jong Economic Policies, protected copies at Princeton Library, and 3 more at Wharton School of Economics. Jong has a deep understanding of Politics and Economics. He had at least 7 published Economic Reforms. Here is a biography of Jong.
Library
While he is viewed by outsiders as a cruel leader, there was a time, at age 10, when I first read his biography, and made me wonder, like Che Guervarra in a strange way, their childhood somehow met at a cross road. Both made impression to a 10-year-old girl who should have been playing jacks.
KIM JONG II - OF FAILED DREAMS, HOPES, IDEALISM, STUBBORNESS AND SELF RELIANCE 2/2
I am probably one of a billion who do not wish him ill. Nor I am here to defend him. During this difficult period in his life, I sincerely hope he makes peace with himself, and revive his young idealism, hopes and dreams for North Korea and his people - to realize his economic objectives: self reliance, prosperity, freedom, and once again a part of all Nations.
Releasing Laura Ling and Euna Lee as peace offerings, on humanitarian and diplomatic grounds would be a good tiding for the tired worn out leader - it's not impossible for one facing an Olympian feat of a disease.
To Jong II and the North Korean people - it's time to join the world.
